Who should take LCS COVID-19 Managing Risk Online Training?

Our course is aimed at Managers, Supervisors, Leaders, Small Business Owners, anyone who in the business who is directly responsible for managing or leading others. Getting an understanding of health and safety and managing the virus in the workplace, from a managers role is crucial to the business. The course, takes us through a variety of modules and Risk Assessment practice, so you are confident and ready and will be able to make an immediate impact in your workplace.

The Modules

Introducing Our Duties – Our first module discusses the responsibilities of COVID-19 outlining the duties of employers and managers and how they are accountable for the employees, contractors and others under their control. 

Understanding Our Responsibilities – We review the legal system and health and safety law and enforcement. Then introduce the importance of having a health and safety management system, an appointed person and when we need to report a COVID-19 outbreak under RIDDOR.

Identifying Our New Bio Hazard – We explain all the common risks from the hazard that managers may face. From those that we known, but also the less obvious but important we need to be thinking about. 

Assessing Risks – Explanation of the terms ‘hazard’ ‘risk’ and ‘risk assessment’. We learn how to complete a COVID-19 risk assessment using the risk assessment process.

Controlling Risks – We review the hierarchy of control and concentrate on the best techniques to control key risks in relation to COVID-19. Understand how we reduce risk and whereas we see PPE is the last resort, with an open discussion on the use and issuing of face masks and respiratory equipment in the workplace. 

Measuring Performance – This module explains how checking performance can help to improve health and safety and employee wellbeing. Delegates learn how to develop basic performance indicators. We also learn about auditing and proactive and reactive measuring.
